Home Inspection

What Happens If Your Home Inspection Doesn’t Turn Out Well?

When you are buying a home, it may seem like a whirlwind of appointments and signatures. One of the most nerve-racking steps in the process is the home inspection, where you will learn the true condition of the home you want to purchase. At United Property Inspectors, Inc., we understand that home inspections don’t always go as planned and can even bring the real estate transaction to a screeching halt. We are here to help you through the scenario where your home inspection doesn’t turn out as planned and to let you know how we can assist you in your next steps.

What Could You Uncover at the Inspection?

The home inspector will evaluate what they can see and touch at your comprehensive home inspection. We cannot assess a problem hidden under the carpet or furniture or a leak that only occurs during specific weather events. United Property Inspectors, Inc. will focus on the big ticket items that can affect the sale of the house, such as the foundation, HVAC, electrical system, plumbing system, fireplaces, roof, and many others.

Will You Advise Me Not to Buy the House?

We will never advise you as to whether or not you should buy a house. What we will do is provide clear and detailed evaluation reports that will help you to make the best decision for you and your family and that will assist you as you negotiate the real estate transaction. We do not tell our clients to move forward or not move forward with an offer to purchase the home.

What if I Decide to Walk Away from the House?

Sometimes, the best decision is to walk away from the house, as disappointing as that might be. You may determine that the risks don’t outweigh the benefits, or the seller may not be as compromising as you think they should be based on the inspection report. If we inspect a property for you and you decide against buying it, we will be happy to inspect a second one for you at a discounted price.
